Despite that, this is not the first issue I’ve had with MSFS because, before I managed to work out a fix, I was stuck in a loop which prevented the program from even starting up. Like you, I know it’s not a hardware issue, because my PC is an ultra-modern i9. Again, despite a few flight simulator alternatives, they pretty much have a monopoly. The whole experience with Word is mirrored here in MSFS. It’s THE word processing program which everyone uses, so there’s no incentive for them to fix anything or offer decent customer service, because you simply have to use it. This is a problem stemming from the market monopoly they have with software like Word. Micrososft, the software’s makers, are never to blame, never offer any apologies or, whisper it softly, any sort of recompense. If someone from Microsoft can be bothered to answer, it’s usually made out to be the user’s fault or that of their computer. If you go on a forum for an answer, you find dozens of posts mentioning the same issue, often going back years – but still it hasn’t been fixed. To digress slightly, Microsoft Word is the most appalling piece of software which, every day, adds minutes and minutes of avoidable delay, not to mention much frustration. I say that with resignation because, having to work with Microsoft Word every day as part of my profession, they have form for producing glitch-laden software. No, it doesn’t make me feel any better, but it does confirm what I thought: this is a Microsoft problem. Sorry to hear you’re having problems too.
